Around Town – July 25

Orchids to …

• Indiana corn farmers who have been providing free, elaborate, “art installations” for all to enjoy for decades across our state.

• the FedEx driver who found our Harley plates in Brown County and turned them in, from Sharon and Bill Philipps.

• Matt at Lowe’s for helping me with my washer hookups and to everyone else who also assisted, from an appreciative customer.

• The Republic for Take Your Best Shot.

• great-granddaughter Thaise Jessup and her Indiana Gators USSSA 9-and-under team winning the national championship in Branson, Missouri, and to The Republic for the article in Tuesday’s paper.

• Chiropractor Dr. Malachi Henry and wonderful staff for the recent treatment of my neck pain.

Onions to …

• the local person on social media who opines on every issue — including talking about people’s incorrect grammar — yet rarely writes a complete sentence using correct English.

• those who complain about the debt ceiling but support progressive programs giving or providing everything for “free.”

• the Democratic Party for dividing this country.

• those who planted a “corn corner” downtown and are calling it art.

• people who still can’t figure out that raising the minimum wage would result in higher prices for everything else, leaving you in the same situation.

• the party that keeps pushing the narrative of their lies against the best president since Reagan.

• those that don’t understand that the minimum wage is a starting point and not a destination.

• Democrats who evidently can’t read, spending more tax dollars having Mueller explain his report to them.

Happy Birthday to …
