A Hope man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop.

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies were told by an off-duty Hope police officer at 11:06 p.m. Sunday that Joshua Lucas was in a silver Impala leaving a Circle K gas station, deputies said.

Deputies confirmed Lucas, 26, of 115 Broad St., Hope had a warrant for his arrest and Deputy Andrew Dougan located the vehicle and stopped it, deputies said.

Dougan located a bag on Lucas that contained a white, crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as a brown powder that was suspected to be heroin, deputies said.

Lucas was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, a Bartholomew County warrant and an out-of-county warrant, deputies said. Lucas was being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.

Assisting Dougan were Hope Police Officer Adam Mathis and the Hope Police Department.
