COLUMBUS
Lois Joann Daily Poffenberger, 88, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, August 22, 2019. Joann was born May 19, 1931 to Coy B. and Mary E. Hager Daily, the eldest of three children. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1949 and married P. Scott Poffenberger, Sr. November 23, 1952.
Joann was a devoted mother and homemaker. She will be especially remembered for her delicious homemade pies, prodigious food canning skills, her lovely curly white hair and her musical laugh.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, P. Scott Poffenberger, Sr.; children, Elizabeth A. Poffenberger of Symsonia, KY., P. Scott Poffenberger, Jr. of Flat Rock, and Jennifer M. (John) Heichelbech of Columbus; grandsons, Samuel, Elias, and Julian Heichelbech; brothers, Joe Daily and Harold (Donna) Daily, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joann Sebastian Daily.
Joann’s memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Chaplain Cathy Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
