Bull Dog sets school record

SEYMOUR — After coming within one shot of a school record twice last year and once early this season, Nathaly Munnicha etched her name in the record books on Tuesday.

The Columbus North junior fired a 5-under-par 32 on the back nine at Shadowood to break Danbi Kim’s school record for most shots under par and tie Aubrey Smith and Nathaly’s sister Alex Munnicha with the nine-hole record of 32 and lead the sixth-ranked Bull Dogs to a 148-208 win against Seymour.

Nathaly Munnicha set the record despite a bogey. She had an eagle and four birdies to go along with three pars.

“It felt really good because I knew I’m capable of going really low,” Munnicha said. “One of my goals this year was to beat a school record. I had some questionable tee shots, especially my drivers, especially on the hole I bogeyed. But my approach shots were pretty close, and that really helped.”

Munnicha’s effort overshadowed a career round from Yestika Nischol, who carded a 1-under 36 for North. Annie Anderson and Gwen Anderson each shot 40, while Macy Euler added a 43 and Ella Wilks had a 46.
