Threesome wins Par 3 golf scramble

Chase Elwood, Taylor Elwood and Darrell Moffat won Tuesday’s Par 3 scramble at Par 3 Golf Course.

The threesome carded a 3-under-par 24 to take top honors.

Northside Middle School opened its season Wednesday with a 4-1 loss to Center Grove.

Jennings boys win

Jennings County Middle School’s boys captured the Jac-Cen-Del Invitational on Wednesday, scoring 46 points to 59 for runner-up Southwestern.

Sam Fewell led the Panthers with a third-place finish in 11 minutes, 37 seconds. Zach Wahlman took sixth in 12:03, while Elijah Hatton was eighth (12:05), Isaac Gasper 13th (12:47) and Brock Maschino 16th (12:56).

The Jennings girls had four runners, one short of the number needed to score as a team. Kennedy Woods finished 18th in 14:30, while Justin Jones was 33rd (15:45), Sarah Poole 42nd (16:42) and Paige Daniels 55th (22:47).

The Panther boys were coming off a sixth-place finish with 165 points in the Greensburg Invitational. Northside won with 44.

Fewell finished 11th in 11:39 to lead Jennings. Hatton took 22nd in 12:04, while Wahlman was 26th (12:10), Gasper 51st (12:55) and Maschino 55th (13:00).

For the Panther girls, Jones finished 66th in 15:43, and Poole took 82nd in 16:41. Daniels was 53rd in the girls open race in 21:32.

Panthers win twice

The Jennings County eighth-grade White team won a pair of games last week, beating South Dearborn 25-7, 25-10 on Tuesday and Brownstown Central 15-20, 21-25, 15-13 on Thursday.

Charlee Barlow pounded eight kills, and Lucy Brown and Alivia Elmore each served three aces for the Panthers (5-3) against Brownstown. Julian Woodard recorded seven kills, and Barlow and Elmore each had three aces against South Dearborn.

Jennings was coming off a fourth-place finish in the Silver Creek Invitational, beating River Valley 25-19, 25-17 and North Harrison 25-15, 25-17 and falling to Brownstown 18-25, 25-19, 15-12 and Seymour 25-21, 25-19. Barlow pounded 11 kills and Cadence Edwards added 10 kills on the day, while Elmore served 16 aces and Chloe Haeufle served 13 aces.

The Panther seventh-grade White team also finished fourth in the Silver Creek Tournament, beating River Valley 25-13, 25-8 and North Harrison 25-14, 25-8 before falling to Brownstown 24-25, 25-19, 15-5 and Seymour 25-24, 25-24. Kerrigan Paul served 19 aces on the day.

The seventh-graders (4-4) beat South Dearborn 25-4, 25-12 on Tuesday and fell to Brownstown 25-24, 20-25, 15-9 on Thursday. Paul had six aces against South Dearborn and three aces against Brownstown.

Meanwhile, Hauser swept the Jennings Middle School Blue teams, winning the seventh-grade game 25-13, 25-10 and the eighth-grade game 25-8, 25-21. Sammi Risk led the Panther eighth-graders (0-2) with two aces, and Abby Cross served one ace for the Jennings seventh-graders (0-2).
