
The city of Columbus observed the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks with a remembrance ceremony at Columbus City Hall this morning.
A moment of silence was observed beginning at 8:46 a.m., the time that American Airlines Flight 11 struck of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
The ceremony also included an emergency responder radio dispatch to honor the first responders and citizens who died following the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Nearly 3,000 people died in the attacks.
