COLUMBUS
Selma D. Lucas, 77, of Columbus, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at her home, surrounded by family.
Selma was born April 5, 1942, in Ewing, Indiana, the daughter of Dan and Myrtle Allman Kinworthy. On January 13, 1961, she married Amos Lucas.
Mrs. Lucas was a devoted homemaker. She took pride in raising her four children and taking care of her family. Selma taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Her hobbies included sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Amos; children, Mark (Jeanne) Lucas, Dan (Janie) Lucas, Larry Lucas, all of Brown County, Indiana, Stacy (Aaron) McCord of Columbus; grandchildren, Eric Lucas, Sara (Charlie) Leggins, Megan Lucas, Danny Lucas, Jr., Ashley Lucas, Emma Lucas, Kylee (David) Urquidi, Josh (Courtney) McCord, Hanah McCord; great-grandchildren, Triston, Isom and Lili Leggins; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Harold Summers officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Shiloh Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
