Orchids to …

• all of the businesses, organizations and individuals who provided their support for this year’s National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony, from Bob Miller.

• Wayne of Neal Paint & Wallpaper for a great job above and beyond all that I needed, from Marilyn.

• Smith Elementary’s teachers and teacher assistants for all they do for kids under pressure.

• our son, Wayne Freeman, for taking our old garage door down, love you, Mom and Dad.

• John Brooks, for installing our new garage door, from JV and Jeanette.

• the nice men who came to my house and repaired the leak in the water line at no charge.

• Morgan and Kasey at Kroger for exceptional customer service.

• the gentleman who offered to give me $3 to cover the extra cost I didn’t have at Walmart on Wednesday.

• Collin at Schmidt’s Garage Doors for the quick response and efficient work when our vehicles were trapped in our garage.

Onions to …

• the city of Columbus officials for constantly setting a bad example by allowing events involving alcoholic beverages on city-owned properties.

• the security person who put a ticket on a car after only four hours, threatening to have it towed, because now that business has lost six female shoppers.

• to whoever decided to close Marr Road without little warning to those of us who commute daily and were unaware.

• those that don’t realize that tire store locations are business decisions, not those of city leaders.

• the retail business for giving tickets for being parked in their parking lot.

• those that think Barack Obama was a squeaky-clean president, because his ideas and policies put America back many years.

• the manager of a restaurant for being so rude.

• the security person who I asked to tell me where the signs were indicating “no parking,” and who refused to answer my question and hung up on me.

• whoever picked up my phone at the store Monday off of the floor, because it’s my sister’s and I’d like to have it back.

• shameful and cowardly politicians endangering our country and our world by lack of action on climate change.

• athletes who don’t understand that you stand for the flag and kneel for the cross.

• the retail business that gave three parking tickets because we left our cars there about three hours.

• those responsible for the grass that has barely been mowed along U.S. 31 coming from the north, compared to the grass along State Road 46 coming from the west, which is mowed frequently.
