Billy Joe “B.J.” Kritzer, 74, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2019 at his home in Brown County.
He was born on August 13, 1945, in Seymour, Indiana, the youngest child of Kenneth and Dora Kritzer. On June 10, 1967, he married his best friend and true love, Kimberly Ann Kritzer. Billy was a devoted husband and their union spanned a wonderful 52 years.
Billy will be remembered as a caring father that cherished his family. He was a thoughtful and educating grandfather to his only grandchildren, Austin and Adrianna Kritzer.
B.J. graduated from Brown County High School in 1963. He then went on to obtain his B.S. in education from the University of Indianapolis in 1967 and his master’s degree in administration from Indiana University in 1972.
B.J. taught for 33 years in the Brown County School Corporation, at the Brown County High School and Junior High. Through the years, he impacted thousands of students.
He and his wife, Kimberly, resided on a farm in Southern Brown County over the years where they grew corn and soybeans, and raised Black Angus Cattle and Thoroughbred horses.
Billy enjoyed fishing, however, playing golf was his real passion. He enjoyed golfing at Salt Creek Golf Retreat with his friends, whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughters, Melissa Kritzer of Florida, Michelle Kritzer of Brown County; grandchildren, Austin and Adrianna Kritzer; sister, Marcia Haarer of Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
B.J. was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at Salt Creek Golf Retreat on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with time of “memory sharing” from 6:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
