Corey B. Hofelich, 25, of Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday morning, October 9, 2019 at his home.
Corey was born March 4, 1994, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Pete Hofelich and Camille Beach Secrest.
Corey was a 2012 graduate of Columbus North High School.
Since the summer of 2018, Corey was a welder at Faurecia in Columbus where he was very passionate about his work.
Corey had many interests in life; he was passionate of weightlifting, was a member of Total Fitness and had lifted competitively. Corey enjoyed skateboarding and earlier in life he liked to ride dirt bikes.
Corey is survived by his mother and stepfather, Camille and Scott Secrest of Columbus; his father and stepmother, Pete and Brandy Hofelich of Columbus; brothers, Cameron Hofelich of Columbus, Keaton Secrest of Columbus, Nick McGuire of Columbus, Jacob Hofelich of Columbus, Zachary Hofelich of Columbus and Jordan Hofelich of Columbus; grandparents, Butch and Mary Jane Beach of Elizabethtown, Mary Dean of Scipio and Scott and Judy Secrest of Columbus; and many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Corey was preceded in death by grandparents, John Hofelich and Debbie Boaz.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Cremation will follow the visitation.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Upland Pump House, 148 Lindsey Street, Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.
