NORTH VERNON — A North Vernon woman was arrested on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop on South State Street in North Vernon on Wednesday.
Jennings County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy David Turner said that Deputy Craig Hahn conducted a traffic stop on a silver 2005 Equinox Wednesday night for a registration violation.
Hahn became suspicious of drug activity and requested assistance from Sgt. Cody Low and K-9 Axel, who alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, driven by Hannah Combs, 30, North Vernon, deputies found 2 grams of fentanyl, marijuana, paraphernalia, methamphetamine and pills, Turner said.
Combs was arrested on Level 6 felony preliminary charges of:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Violation of legend drug
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of a narcotic drug
She was being held in the Jennings County Jail in lieu of $3,155 bond, jail officials said.
