Local sports fans have a new website where they can go to read about their favorite high school teams.
For the past few weeks, sports editors and writers at The Republic, The (Johnson County) Daily Journal, The (Seymour) Tribune and The (Greenfield) Daily Reporter have been inputting stories, schedules and rosters from the fall sports at their area schools into a database.
Last weekend, hoosierprepsports.com went live.
When fans visit hoosierprepsports.com and sign up, they can click on schools from Bartholomew, Jennings, Brown, Johnson, Jackson and Hancock Counties, as well as South Decatur from Decatur County.
One of the features of the new site will be live tracking of selected football games through GameTracker. Fans will be able to follow play-by-play of Columbus East and Columbus North games, just like they can at other online sites for NFL and major college games.
Meanwhile, the Twitter accounts of James Pence and myself will continue to be the best place to follow live in-game updates for this weekend’s regional volleyball and semistate boys soccer games and for next week’s East and North sectional football games. Just follow @TSchultzSports or @jpencesports to have access to updates.
With the website, there may be a few kinks to work out at first, but we hope to be able to enhance the best local sports coverage you can find.
