Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies were sent to the 1000 block of East County Road 50N about an accident involving a vehicle hitting a house.
Deputies were sent at 9:06 p.m. Sunday to the home where they said a driver, identified as Tyler Burton, 35, Columbus, was traveling eastbound on East County Road 50N when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole, traveled through a neighboring yard striking a parked vehicle and crashed into the side of an attached garage.
Burton was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for medical clearance before being transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
He remains in BCJ in lieu of a $5,000 bond. No injuries were reported.
