Deputies arrest local man wanted on warrant

Shawn T. Gilley

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man after spotting him and confirming he was wanted on a warrant.

Deputy Ryland Fluhr was patrolling in the 200 block of Patterson Road at 9:57 p.m. Saturday when he observed a male subject he knew to have an outstanding arrest warrant, deputies said.

As Fluhr exited his patrol vehicle, the male went behind a residence and would not respond to Fluhr’s commands. As other deputies arrived to assist, Fluhr observed the subject crawl into a shed.

Fluhr gave verbal commands for the man to exit the shed, however, the subject did not comply. A short time later, the man, identified as Shawn Timothy Gilley, 44, Columbus, was taken into custody, deputies said.

Gilley was arrested on preliminary charges of a Bartholomew County warrant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a legend drug injection device and possession of paraphernalia.

Gilley was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail without bond, jail officials said.
