Around Town – November 6

Orchids to …

• Drs. Iorio, Baxter and Taylor for their great care for my child and their compassion.

• the city crew that did a great job cleaning up the brush and leaf piles on Acorn Drive.

• CRH 6T, 3T and ICU nursing staffs, Dr. Song, Dr. Hart and Dr. Salinas for the exceptional care given to Anthony.

• the kind lady CRH employee who both carried my tray and paid for my breakfast at the cafeteria, from the old guy with the “sympathy stick.”

• Delores Niemoeller for making pies for me for the Petersville turkey supper, from Jean.

• Old National Bank on Washington Street for always being there for me, from Marie.

• the JayC Food store at West Hill for the great customer service, especially in the meat department.

• Principal Payne at Central Middle School for having the representative from our area talk to the kids, which was very informative and good for a social studies lesson.

• the couple who surprised us by paying for our lunch on Monday at Greek’s Pizzeria.

• all their “fire people” for their service, because if my house is on fire, I don’t care who puts water on it: fireman, firefighter or a firewoman.

Onions to …

• a local restaurant for not honoring a military discount.

• President Obama for the weakness and naivete he helped create in the population.

• people that don’t realize Antifa and the resistance are anarchists.

• everybody involved in the groundbreaking ceremony for the railroad overpass, because it couldn’t have been done at any worse time of day.

• the school that does not follow their lunch menu and can’t seem to serve my child warm food.

• the haters that obviously aren’t native to Columbus that dwell on the idea of destroying the Crump, which has been dear to those of us born and raised here and holds many memories for all.

• those that don’t realize that with just a single letter change, going from “Crump” to “Trump,” would create a lot more excitement for saving that old theater.

• people that don’t realize that the community is much more interested in a reopened restaurant with good food than saving a funky old theater.

• the medical industry that continues to do follow-up tests every six months, 15 years after an incident, and keeps coming up with negative results, and to the insurance companies that keep paying for said tests.

• anyone who thinks the president should not be impeached just because they believe he has done more than another president.

• the tall man who spit on the floor at the entrance to the CRH cafeteria on Monday morning.

• the representative who spreads propaganda to children.

• anybody who thinks Obama was even a decent president, because he was the worst.

• the president who fights all the way to the Supreme Court to keep citizens from seeing his tax returns.

• spending money on an unnecessary overpass when we have bridges and highways that need to be repaired.

• the nurses and doctors that have lost their ability to be compassionate and helpful to their patients who are paying their salaries.

• the representative who visits schools but won’t take the same time to meet with constituents.

• those criticizing President Trump because they apparently prefer weak borders, higher taxes, late-term abortions and fewer jobs the Democrats offer.

• those who disrespect the Crump Theatre with all the golden memories and the golden old films shown there for people like us who grew up in Columbus and had a wonderful time there.
