A local man was arrested by Columbus police officers after he was accused of firing a handgun into his wife’s unoccupied vehicle during an argument.
At approximately 9:20 p.m. Sunday, CPD officers responded to the 2000 block of Vinewood Drive in regards to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived at the residence, they observed Todd A. Turner, 33, of 2035 Vinewood Drive, in the front yard with his hands on top of his head.
Turner was detained and officers determined that after having an argument with his wife, he reportedly fired a gunshot into the door of her unoccupied Cadillac sport utility vehicle which was in their garage.
CPD detectives applied for and later received a search warrant and recovered a 9mm handgun from the home.
Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was held on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a firearm, a Level 5 felony.
Turner was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $55,000 bond, jail officials said.
