Around Town – November 7

Orchids to …

• all the workers at Petersville United Methodist Church for preparing and serving the delicious turkey supper, from those who came and enjoyed the meal.

• the good people of Columbus and their common-sense voting for city council.

• Democrats: OK, lets see what you got — don’t mess it up too bad.

• great service by Percifield’s, Randy replaced the heater core on my Audi A6 with additional work of brazing sleeves over the inlet and outlet of the core — with no extra charge.

• Best One tire for great service work on my ‘94 Chevy truck — and a great new waiting room, with coffee and soft drinks in a small fridge with the glass door and a new, super clean restroom.

• JNET for a great job eradicating drug dealers.

• everyone that exercised their right to vote and participated in the democratic process.

• President Trump who by campaigning, helped Democrats get elected.

• Grace Kestler, Tom Dell, Elaine Wagner, and Jerone Wood for turning the city council blue for the first time since 1981, and to Michael Schoumacher, Ross Thomas, and Katea Ravega for running inspiring races as well.

• Bartholomew County Democratic candidates for quickly retrieving all their signs and saving them for the next election.

• the BCSC health clinic personnel and especially Tracy for helping distribute flu shots.

• the Tom Dell supporter who went and got cables from his truck and jump-started the car for the elderly couple who voted at Grace Lutheran Church.

• Republicans yesterday voting for Democrats in many states.

Onions to …

• people who want me to save the Crump — spend your own money on it, not mine.

• fascists and all who support them; my father and uncles bravely fought them once before and we don’t want them in America.

• the current administration for increasing co-pay for military veterans’ medicines.

• manhole covers below finished street levels.

• the writer who, like this president, needs to get over President Obama.

• the senator from South Carolina who doesn’t seem to care what evidence is presented against this president in the impeachment proceedings.

• those responsible for poor financial planning resulting in a $4,000 health insurance premium increase on my $15/hour salary.

• people who like to get drunk and then think its a smart idea to drive who then crash their vehicles into someone’s home on a quiet Sunday night.

• the local Democrats for another four years of your tax-and-spend mayor who claims to be a Republican.

• local Democrats for defeating the District One incumbent — thank you!

• the Democrats who put onions to President Trump for attending a fight in New York City and whose memory was so short that they forgot about Obama taking similar trips to New York, wasting taxpayers’ money as well.

• the Democrats in town, you got your tax-and-spend mayor safely re-elected and now you control the city council too.

• those that won’t grow up and give up the idealistic thoughts of saving the Crump based on old memories and feelings.

• Americans who need to wake up and hear this — a half-truth is a whole lie.

• the city that is more worried about a stupid, worthless mall than a historical theater.

• people that think Obama was good for anything other than making a fool of himself.

• Republicans who don’t think President Obama was the best president this country ever had.

• people who disrespect a public street by discarding limbs and vegetation trash at the northeast end of Monument Drive.

• the local radio station for poor broadcasting of last night’s IU basketball opening game; there was interference in the background and the second half was not broadcast — they put on Christmas music instead.
