Around Town – November 9

Orchids to …

• Ms. Dobbs, Ms. Tiffany, and all the Mt. Healthy iCare kids who found my son’s first lost tooth after school Wednesday.

• Nurse Lori of Four Seasons Retirement nursing staff for the wonderful job dressing my forehead wound without even leaving a scar, from an appreciative resident.

• the first person or persons to either file a complaint with the Columbus Code Enforcement Office or file a lawsuit over the eyesore owned by Columbus Regional Hospital at the State Road 46 West/I-65 entrance to the city.

• Hope for keeping faith and showing it.

• the people of the streets of Columbus for the respect given back to those who give it.

• Frank’s Tree Service for a great job done — would hire you again!

• Lisa Hill, for really caring about every patient she encounters — such a comfort.

• Harriet Dillman for your Christian love and your giving to others, from Lisa.

• city code enforcement officer Fred Barnett for taking action to make sure the owner of a blighted house in the neighborhood is completely done with repairs by the end of November.

Onions to …

• the person who races their wheelchair around in the mall just trying to provoke confrontation.

• those who want to deny that our mayor is a true Republican.

• the mail person who didn’t scan my box, pick up my mail or deliver any mail on Wednesday on the north side of town.

• those who refuse to understand that the time for the Crump has passed.

• the local board of works for allowing violations for almost a year when a landlord association member has had more than adequate time to resolve violations and has the nerve to ask for a third extension — fine him!

• the most expensive mobile home park in Bartholomew County that micromanages the lives of their tenants; life has enough stress, now we have to make sure our window blinds aren’t broken — get a life.

• BCSC administration for not closing on Nov. 19 as many teachers will be absent, which could force them to close at the last minute.

• a group of people who yelled profanities at a woman walking with two young children.

• people who don’t think about what they say and/or how they say it, nor consider those around them.

• anyone who lies for gain of a greater value than the one being lied to.

• a mother who refuses to allow her daughter to make phone calls to children.

• the corruption and greed of the Republican Party.

• anyone who has read the limited telephone transcript and doesn’t agree that Donald Trump tried to bribe the Ukrainian leader to find dirt on the Bidens.

• those that don’t understand the mayor going to a Democrat victory party shows he’s a Republican in name only.

• parents at Central who don’t read the newsletter and continue to pull in the bus lane every morning.

• the big factory office union for not protecting your union members.

• those not knowing the difference between a campaign residence blitz vs. daily constituent contact while in office over a four-year period, and thinking they are the same.

• the horrible repair/resurfacing of U.S. 31 in northern Bartholomew County.

• people who think the Crump is all about memories and feelings — it’s actually a huge part of Columbus history.

• narrow-minded people who don’t realize that saving the Crump would not be from using their precious money.

• the writer who seems to not believe in a real eternal hell when Jesus said, “where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched” three times.

• trespassers and poachers who are committing crimes that can get them sent to jail, it is the family of the violators who suffer most, is it worth it to hurt them so?

• those who do not realize that a politician who extorts and betrays an ally will also extort and betray the American people when it comes to health care, wages, etc.

• the leader of a local landlord association for his poor example to other landlords and his lack of concern to renters throughout the community.

• disappointed Democrats who were already trying to impeach President Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors before he even took the oath of office.

• those responsible for the unethical tree and wildlife destruction near I-65 and State Road 46 West; you are causing our planet to perish and a whole lot of global warming problems for others.

Happy Birthday to …

• Lisa Pairetz Freers, from your family and co-workers.

• Doug Hanner, from your family and Donna.

• Sondra Capes, from friends at Bethel Baptist Church.

• Donny Hitch, from Mom and Dad, Betty, Marilyn, Patsy, Penny, Sammy, Charlie, Kirt, John, Jayson, Brandon, Royce, Christy, Ashley, Amber, Sisco and all the rest of your family and friends.
