Columbus police officers arrested a burglary suspect Monday morning after he was spotted hiding behind a couch inside a local auto repair shop.
Officers were sent to Shaddai Auto, 2519 25th Street, at 8:15 a.m. where an employee advised that he observed two broken windows at the business and noted that several items were out of place in the office.
A short time later, the employee found an unknown person hiding behind a couch.
Columbus police officers arrived a short time later and located Tyler A. Small, 29, of 1904 Keller Ave.- 1/2, hiding behind the couch, Harris said.
Small was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of burglary, Harris said.
Small was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond, jail officials said.
