‘Adopt a Soldier’ seeks letters

For the ninth year, America’s Adopt a Soldier is asking for cards of thanks to share with American service members who are deployed and veterans who in state veterans homes and hospitals.

In 2018, more than 200,000 care letters were shared, said Mary Kesser, founder of Adopt a Soldier. This year the goal is to reach more than 300,000, which would allow the organization to send at least four letters to every veteran in veterans homes or hospitals, as well as service men and women who are deployed.

To participate in the 2019 National Care Letter Campaign, mail a personally written and designed letter or greeting card to America’s Adopt A Soldier, 5400 Shawnee Road, Suite 300, Alexandria, Virginia, 22312.
