Around Town – November 20

Thought for the Day

• “Destiny is a name often given in retrospect to choices that had dramatic consequences.”

• — Author J.K. Rowling

Orchids to …

• the many good people who exhibit courtesy, respect and manners.

• anyone who is willing to report criminal activity about positions of power wherever it occurs and to protections for those who have the courage to do so.

• St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for the wonderful Sunday night worship of praise, music and rejoicing in the gymnasium, from the SPL family.

• Angelina and Eric at the AMC theater for helping me find and recover my lost wallet.

• the guy with the big Confederate flag in the back of his truck — may it fly proud and free.

• the Salvation Army that has helped so many people in need.

• Susan at Top Dog Car Wash on Creekview Drive for excellent service Tuesday morning.

Onions to …

• the president’s enablers who one by one are off to jail and hopefully their leader will soon follow.

• campers in the left lane — it’s a $500 fine that I am happy to call the police about.

• anyone demanding their employer raise their agreed-on salary to fit their lifestyle better.

• the school corporation for paying administrators much higher salaries that allow them a very comfortable lifestyle, while most teachers live paycheck to paycheck.

• those who don’t realize that at a sports banquet I’d rather eat, listen to a few short speeches and go home than listen to coaches go on and on about every Tom, Dick and Harry who played.

• teachers who attended a rally when they should have been doing their job.

• Democrats from California for not representing the people who elected them.

• law enforcement for not stopping people with one headlight out or for not turning their lights on when it’s dark.

• people who voted for a mayor who can’t make a decision without a consultant, who will end up raising your taxes.

• the Democratic front-runner who should be investigated with his son, who had no experience in the field he was working in.

• the whistleblower who is two-faced.

• the school corporation wanting to police and silence people on social media.

• the lady in the red Acadia on Tipton Lakes Boulevard at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday who was going 10 miles per hour because she was on her cell phone and almost caused an accident.

• anybody who thinks the Democrats are right — this country is going to be in a lot of trouble if Trump doesn’t get re-elected.

Happy Birthday to …

• Kasondra Capes, from friends at Bethel Baptist Church.

• Brandon Weddle, from Dylan, Mom, Grandma Hege, Aunt Monica, Briana, Tyler, Deshawn, Aunt Retha, Aunt Jan, Uncle Ron and the rest of the family.

• Judy Delph, from Kim and Pamela.

• Joshua Cobb, from Kim and Pamela.
