Around Town – November 21

Orchids to …

• the United States founding fathers who started this country with totally open borders and no immigration laws.

• Ryan Lauer stating at the statehouse that the low teacher raises at BCSC were a result of too high administrative increases.

• the vice president’s aide and national security official who reported the president’s inappropriate conduct on the infamous phone calls to the Ukrainian president.

• teachers who are following their American duty to assemble and protest against the state assembly for not improving public education with decent teacher salaries and sensible evaluation procedures.

• to our current mayor.

• Sarah Bishop at WellConnect — thank you for your help, time and assistance, from Richard and Rosemary.

• Naomi at Best Buy for recovering my pictures that I thought were lost forever, from Jan.

• the more than 16,000 people who attended the state rally in Indianapolis to support our children and public education.

• Brice at Advance Auto Parts for your courtesy and kindness, from Iris.

• Hickory Creek of Columbus for all the wonderful care they gave my husband during his stay and at his passing, from Marie.

• teachers, staff and students for standing up against the unnecessary social media proposal.

• whistle-blowers and anyone who comes forward and speaks out to save our democracy.

• the nice person in the white Toyota Highlander at McDonald’s drive-thru on National Road who paid for our goodies — we will pay it forward.

Onions to …

• those who don’t watch the impeachment hearings and let others form their opinions.

• Republican presidential sycophants who embarrassed themselves by attempting to disparage the reputation of a decorated American war hero — you didn’t fool anyone.

• politicians in Washington wasting our tax money on a rigged impeachment hearing instead of passing an actual budget — which should be their No. 1 job!

• Columbus’s spending money on future projects that are not necessary and for not spending money on real problems to remedy the traffic jams that flow into and out of the city on the west side.

• the person encouraging the display of the flag of a republic that lost a war with the U.S. in the 1860s.

• teachers who want more pay when they already have two months off in the summer and more than four weeks paid time off during the school year, and still get paid more than a lot of full-time, year-round, one-day-off-for-a-holiday workers.

• people supporting the teachers who better not get upset if police, fire, EMS, doctors and nurses all decide to take time off together to protest.

• to the Democratic-led House for not passing the USMCA, which would benefits all of us, and instead spending millions of taxpayer dollars on another investigation.

• those that don’t realize they’re coming up with all kinds of stupid excuses to not save the Crump.

• the lady in a local Columbus office who was so rude to the young man who was trying to get help on a computer.

• liberals who are trying to impeach the greatest president in the history of the United States of America.

• teachers who vote Republican and then go to the statehouse and protest all the policies Republicans put into place.

• teachers who aren’t in a teachers union when the union fights every day for the causes you want changed.

• dictatorships, communist countries and school corporations silencing people on social media.

• people who vote for anyone except Donald Trump for president — this country is going to be in real trouble if he doesn’t get re-elected.

• Democrats running up a high bill of taxpayers dollars with the impeachment hearings.

Happy Birthday to …

• Sam McInteer, from friends at Bethel Baptist Church.

• Judy Andrews, from your family and Donna.

Happy Anniversary to …

• my husband and best friend Jerry Schultz, on no. 49, from your wife, Pat.
