Josh Jones // Columbus Christian senior basketball player

Jones led the Crusaders with 15 points in Friday’s 55-46 overtime loss at Colonial Christian and scored 15 Saturday in a 65-53 loss at Legacy Christian.

His performance last week: “There’s still stuff I can work on and that we can work on as a team, but overall, I think it was decent.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I get to practice early and put up shots and do my own routines at home.”

Favorite food: “Bacon cheesburgers”

Role model: “My mom (Kay Jones)”

Best advice: “Do your best to control what you can control, and work hard.”

Athletics goal: “To perform my best every single game and see where basketball takes me.”

If you could travel anywhere: “St. Croix, Virgin Islands. I was there once for a little bit, but I would totally go back.”

FEMALE

Koryn Greiwe // Columbus East sophomore basketball player

Greiwe scored a career-high 32 points in a 75-34 win at Batesville, then matched that with 32 in a 53-44 victory against Bloomington South, making a single-game school-record 14 free throws.

Her performance last week: “I think I was very confident with my shooting, and I stepped up when my team needed me.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just try to focus before the game and not mess around or anything and get my energy ready to play.”

Favorite drink: “Water and chocolate milk”

Favorite food: “Chicken tender salad”

Favorite class: “Radio and Television”

Favorite sports team: “Purdue”

Favorite athlete: “I liked watching Carsen Edwards when he played at Purdue.”

Role model: “My parents (Keith and Kerry Greiwe) push me to be the best person I can be.”

Best advice: “Be the difference maker. Step up when your team needs you.”

Athletics goal: “To win and keep improving.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Australia because the water is really blue there, and then there’s koala bears and kangaroos.”
