Lilly matching donations to endowment fund
The Lilly Endowment Inc., headquartered in Indianapolis, is helping the Jennings County Community Foundation by matching $1 for every $2 donated in 2019 to an existing endowment.
The endowment, set up in 1996 to benefit the Hayden Historical Museum, helps provide the museum income for operation and maintenance expenses. It also gives $250 to fund a scholarship for a Jennings County High School senior who was a member of the Hayden Little Hoosier Historians in grade school.
Donations can be dropped off at the museum from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays or 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. They can also be mailed to the Hayden Historical Museum, P.O. Box 58, Hayden, IN 47245. Checks should be made out to the Jennings County Community Foundation and designated for the Morrison Fund.

Library sets Gingerbread House building event
The Jennings County Public Library invites you to come and build your very own Gingerbread House on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“We plan this every year to at a time to be able to make your Gingerbread House and take it home and have plenty of time to make it downtown for the Christmas In the City Parade,” JCPL Teen Librarian Amanda Kingswell said.
The JCPL will provide all supplies to build the Gingerbread House. The class is free and open to individuals, families or groups.
“The class has space for 40 people but we already have 19 reservations, so if you want to come, you probably need to act fast,” Kingswell added.
Reservations for the class need to be made by Dec. 2.
To make a reservation or for more information, call the JCPL at 812-346-2091.
