Columbus Area Visitors Center Guest Services Manager Jan Banister has received a full travel scholarship to attend Showcase, Ireland’s Creative Expo trade show, in Dublin, Ireland, Jan. 19–22.
The scholarship opportunity was made available to members of The Museum Store Association, an international trade organization of professional retailers who work in non-profit institutions.
Banister’s application included highlights of the emphasis the Columbus community places on good design. She will network at the event and have the chance to select new products to offer in the Visitor Center’s gift shop.
Banister’s fellow-recipients include representatives from The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the Clinton Presidential Museum in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Boca Raton Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida.
The show is sponsored by Enterprise Ireland, is a government organization that aims to grow Irish enterprises in world markets.
