Two free, complete Thanksgiving meals are being served in Columbus Thursday for those with who need a place to go or are unable to prepare a meal. Locations are:
- 12:30 to 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, 531 Fifth St. downtown.
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Columbus Baptist Church, 4821 U.S. 31 on the city’s northern edge.
Volunteers at the gatherings feed nearly 1,500 diners per year, including home-delivered meals (the deadline has passed to sign up for those). Part of the idea is to provide holiday fellowship for people who otherwise might eat alone, according to organizers.
