Columbus gained more construction jobs in the previous year, in percentage terms, than any of the nation’s metropolitan areas according to a construction trade group.

1994

Columbus Regional Hospital joined five other Indiana health care providers, including Methodist Hospital, in forming the state’s first statewide health care network.

1969

Irwin Union Bank and Trust Co. became the first financial institution in Columbus to offer customers six-day-a-week banking with the opening of its new office in Columbus Center.
