The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s FEMA division approved a grant to Columbus for $4.4 million to be used for the purchase and demolition of 63 flood-damaged homes in the Pleasant Grove subdivision.

A handful of NTN Driveshaft employees armed with fire extinguishers battled the second fire in a week in a forging press until they were pushed out of the building by thick smoke and small explosions. Damage was estimated at $2 to $3 million.
