Martha Ann Toy Lancaster, 84, of Columbus passed away Thursday, December 12, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Hope.
Martha was born in Loogootee, Indiana July 6, 1935, the daughter of Gilbert and Rose Ginder Toy. She married Ralph Lancaster April 24, 1954 in Loogootee; he preceded her in death September 18, 2013.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church since 1962. A member of Columbus Lions Club and Columbus Moose Lodge and former member of Tri Kappa Sorority. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Parrish Council, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, church decorating committee and the original organizer of coffee and donuts at St. Bartholomew. She was very crafty and enjoyed working with flowers for all occasions. She also operated a day care center at her home.
She is survived by children, Donna (Dart) Liebrandt of Columbus, Linda (Phil Soladine) Stevens of Columbus, Ed (Cindy Massey) Lancaster of Columbus, Jane (Allen) Craig of Oldenburg; grandchildren, Jenna Nowak, Kara Abrams, Katie Bambacht, Sarah Milli, Brett Stevens, Crystal Imel, Emilee Chesterfield, Dalton, Jared and Devonne Lancaster; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joyce Toy of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Cameron Briot; and siblings, Bob, Jerry, Ed, JoAnn and Patrick Toy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street and from 10:00 a.m. to service time Monday at the Church. Recitation of the Rosary will be 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
