COLUMBUS — GO Express Travel is creating a more efficient, less expensive option for Columbus residents and tourists to travel to the Indianapolis International Airport.
Beginning Jan. 2, the Columbus Express, a 14-passenger shuttle, will stop at seven locations across Columbus and Bartholomew County, nine times a day, 365 days a year, for anyone who needs a ride to the Indianapolis International Airport — all for just $25.
“This is a service that Columbus has needed for a long time,” said Martin Bentley, business development director at GO Express Travel.
“There’s a buzz when you talk about the service with residents. Almost everyone I talk to about the new service tells me a story about someone they know who will use it often.”
Travelers can currently park their cars at the Indianapolis International Airport for as low as $9 a day in the economy lot. Columbus Express, however, eliminates any parking costs with a flat $25 fee.
Customers can reserve a spot online using GO Express’ paperless ticketing system. An online reservation must be made prior to boarding the vehicle. Riders can select one of seven service locations across Columbus and Bartholomew to be picked up at.
GO Express has been a transportation partner of Cummins Inc. for over three years, Bentley said. The Columbus branch is the third location GO Express has opened, with its home office in Bloomington and another branch in Indianapolis.
“Columbus Express was a very logical addition to services provided by GO Express Travel,” Bentley said. “When we opened our doors in Columbus, it was only a matter of time until we started an airport shuttle to support the local community.”
Columbus Express makes its first stop daily at 4:40 a.m. at Hotel Indigo in downtown Columbus. From Hotel Indigo, it makes subsequent stops at Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn, arriving at the airport by 6:25 a.m.
The shuttle will depart from the airport at 6:35 a.m., making its first stop at Holiday Inn Express, then Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn, Fairfield Inn and Hotel Indigo by 8:20 a.m.
Each trip is made in two-hour increments until the last run at 8:40 p.m.

Book your reservation online at goexpresstravel.com. Service is by reservation only, and drivers do not accept cash.
The driver will electronically confirm your reservation when you board the vehicle. GO Express Travel asks that travelers be at their pick up location several minutes early to allow time to load their luggage and keep on schedule. Drivers do not wait for late passengers.
