Sans Souci: Sorting donations, hanging clothing, pricing items at the nonprofit’s store at 1526 13th St. in Columbus. Needed: Groups of (up to) 10 volunteers for each shift in the morning and afternoons. Individuals encouraged to sign up as well. Hours and Time Commitment: Four-hour shifts. Legal Aid: Seeking volunteers who have office skills, people skills, and a desire to work with applicants who can help cover check-in, answer phones, pre-screen applicants and complete misc. office tasks. Legal knowledge is a plus. Location: 1531 13th St. in Columbus. Hours: 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Friday. Time commitment: two-hour shifts. Columbus Bike Co-Op: 12 volunteers of all skill-levels including bike mechanics needed to help Earn-a-Bike participants build bikes, help people who come in to do repairs, fix shop bikes, scrap old bikes, be a greeter or a monitor during shop hours, and help with local events Location: 1531 13th St. in Columbus. Hours: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Time commitment: Three hours every month. Information: Jamie Zobrist or Jessica Murnane at [email protected]

Community Center of Hope: Volunteers needed to assist clients in the food pantry, stock shelves and perform basic housekeeping duties. Hours: 8 a.m. to noon Tuesdays. Columbus Salvation Army: Seeking volunteers to assist at the outreach’s Gleaner’s Food Trucks food deliveries and distributions at 1 p.m. at Cummins Fuel Systems plant, 1460 N. National Road on the second Tuesdays and at 10 a.m. on the second Fridays at the Salvation Army, 2525 Illinois Ave. Time commitment: two hours per location. Developmental Services Inc.: Needs three volunteers to come and deep clean our kitchen that is used for cooking classes for clients. Hours: Anytime between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. Time commitment: three to four hours. Location: 2920 10th St. in Columbus. Contact: Ida Prange at 812-376-9404, ext. 139.

Family School Partners/Su Casa Columbus: Family School Partners is in need of volunteers to provide homework help for children ages kindergarten through eighth grade in the Taylorsville area once a week. This is open while school is in session. We need volunteers that are good with math and reading skills. Dates of Project: 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and 3 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. Time commitment: one hour once a week and up to two hours per week. Location: Tuesdays are at the Driftside Clubhouse; Thursdays are are at Heritage Heights subdivision. Love Chapel meal sites: Needing volunteers to prepare and serve food, plus occasionally provide additional supplies for the daily meal sites organized by the Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches. Thrive Alliance: A non-profit organization that provides a wide range of social and human services to residents of south central Indiana. Volunteer Opportunities include helping with office clerical tasks (filing, copying, data entry and making phone calls). Times and days are flexible with a volunteer’s schedule. Love Chapel: The largest local food pantry serves more than 4,000 Bartholomew County residents each month. Volunteers are needed to help with donation pickups, janitorial, food stocking and sorting, client intake and pantry shopping, information and technology, warehouse host, and other areas of the nonprofit outreach. Hours: 8:30 a/.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Time Commitment: Each shift is four hours. Volunteers may work as many shifts as is convenient for them. Location: 311 Center St. in Columbus.
