Olympians edge Bears
EVANSVILLE — Tyler Boyer hit the game-winning 3-pointer to push Columbus East past Evansville Central 50-48.
Boyer finished with a game-high 19 points, Seth Chandler had 12 and Daniel Murphy added 10 for the Olympians (2-4).
Bull Dogs finish runner-up
NOBLESVILLE — Columbus North led at halftime, but Class 2A No. 2 Fort Wayne Blackhawk came back in the second half to give the Bull Dogs a 62-59 loss in the championship game of the Noblesville tournament.
Blake Barker finished with a game-high 24 points, Nick Schiavello had 18 and Casper Clark added 10 for the Bull Dogs (8-2).
North won against Noblesville in the semifinal game 51-42. Barker finished with 18 points and Schiavello added 10 for the Bull Dogs.
Jets finish in seventh
EDINBURGH — Hauser bounced back from Friday’s woes to defeat Edinburgh 59-38.
Jackson Paradise finished with 20 points, Bryce Bates had 18 and Trey Johnson added 10 for the Jets (4-5).
Caleb Denny finished with eight points to lead the Lancers (2-8).
Panthers place fifth
FERDINAND — Jennings County led 23-13 after one quarter and coasted to a 67-51 victory against South Central (Elizabeth) to finish in fifth place in the Forest Park tournament.
Carson McNulty finished with a game-high 19 points and Trey Wilson added 16 for the Panthers (5-4).
SWIMMING
Olympians finish third
MOORESVILLE — Columbus East boys swimming finished in third place out of nine teams in Saturday’s Mooresville Invitational.
“We had some good swims, and the guys stepped up today,” East coach David Fribley said.
Branson Young finished second in the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 12.05 seconds and fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:03.57). Bryce Eckelman was second in the 100 backstroke (1:08.08). Chad Kelly placed second in the 50 freestyle (23.82) and third in the 100 freestyle (53.58). Justin Borowski was fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:58.51). Fabio Nihalani finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.45).
Borowski, Colby Hertle, Kelly and Young finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.00) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:48.44).

Olympians place ninth
MISHAWAKA — Kade Law finished in first place at 152 (pounds) to help Columbus East to a ninth place finish in the Mishawaka Invitational Saturday.
Law went 5-0 in his matches, Noah White went 4-2 and finished in fourth place at 182 and Sam Morrill placed seventh at 160.
“We wrestled pretty well as a team,” East coach Chris Cooper said. “We had six guys that were one match away from placing. A lot of those guys wrestled really well.”
