Around Town – January 2

Orchids to …

• Frank at Best Buy for helping me get my free camera case.

• the Mill Race Center prayer group for the Christmas they gave us, and to the volunteer pastors who willingly came and gave their own time, from the Housers.

• Robert Polston for making pies for all of his neighbors, caring for all of his neighbors, and going above and beyond.

Onions to …

• everyone who is using a person’s political party as a form of discrimination and hatred.

• school administrators who want to take more money from working families when 43 percent of students are on free or reduced lunches.

• people who do what they want regardless of laws.

• people who forget that jail is supposed to be a deterrent and not a reward.

• whoever thinks it is fun to set fireworks off at 2:30 a.m.

• the tasteless inclusion of a political cartoon comparing a commander in chief to Emperor Palpatine.

• listing the No. 7 top story linking the public official to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hate group hit list.

ANOTHER beautiful morning
