IUPUC hosts event about life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

IUPUC will host an event focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion to commemorate the life and legacy of The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

The event, called “Lifting up Voices: A Discussion of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,” will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave. It will feature will feature an excerpt from the film “Lifting up a Voice… An Oral History of the Civil Rights Movement in Columbus, IN” and a panel discussion on diversity, equity and inclusion.

The event is free and open to the public.

The panel will include Yodir Anahuati Cacho, an IUPUC graduate who works for Cummins; Wan Baba, who works at Ivy Tech Indianapolis and is an adjunct faculty member at IUPUC; and Columbus City Council members Elaine Hilber and Jerone Wood.
