• County sheriffs and local officials who took an oath to uphold the Constitution and are not bowing to tyrannical laws, thank you for your bravery.

• Dr. Hall and the other vet techs at Hope Vet Clinic for the excellent care during the life of our little Lucy.

• Johnny’s Muffler for the great service, from Lisa Welch.

• the Indiana Color Guard for their proud salute to Marine Don Williams.

• the Republic sport’s department for updates on how recent high school graduates in the area are doing in their college careers.

• Ellen, my big sister, for coming to my rescue, from your little sister Iris.

• the recent letter writer who provided a perfect example of an appropriate time to simply say, “OK, boomer.”

• the brave young people going to Washington D.C. to protest Roe vs. Wade and stand up for the rights of the unborn.

Onions to …

• the city for being the most unfriendly, unwelcoming place I have ever visited.

• sanctuary cities and states that support illegal activities ignoring or picking what laws to enforce.

• states that undermine federal law by legalizing marijuana.

• officials creating a “sanctuary” county.

• those who think “onions and orchids” created a political situation rather than the words and actions of a stable genius.

• the state representative for attending a rally in Virginia instead of attending a local event honoring the late civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

• those who petition and protest their government brandishing guns.

• those who believe that you can have a fair trial without hearing all witnesses.

• insurance companies for being closed on MLK Day.

• the school for having a dark parking lot in the back of the elementary school with no lights at games.

• those who steal from people who are in a nursing home.

• the person who should spend more time on his day job than constantly submitting orchids and onions.

• people who use the term “drunken sailors.”
