Columbus North was clicking on all cylinders in the first half of Tuesday night’s non-conference game against Franklin.
It was the complete opposite for the Grizzly Cubs, who could not find the basket, which led to the Bull Dogs jumping out to a huge lead and rolling to a 50-13 victory.
The 13 points that North allowed was its second-fewest points ever allowed in a single game. The record came in a 79-12 win against Hauser in the 1974-75 season.
“We did a really good job of communicating and rotating and knowing the scouting report,” North senior Annie Anderson said. “I think we came into today having a lot of energy, and I think it paid off, so it was exciting.”

The Bull Dogs (13-7) hit six 3-pointers in the first half offensively and held Franklin (8-10) to just one field goal defensively in the half.
North jumped out to a 6-0 lead until the Grizzly Cubs scored their first point. The Bull Dogs finished the first quarter with a 19-2 lead.
Kylah Lawson converted a 3-point-play to start the second period; and then Anderson, Sierra Norman and Madison White all converted a triple to extend the lead to 31-3. North led led 33-5 at the half.
“We were really hot from the 3,” Norman said. “The whole team was doing really well and putting each other in position to be successful.”
After Franklin converted a basket, the Bull Dogs went on a 15-2 run to lead 48-9. It was 48-10 after the third quarter following a Grizzly Cubs free throw.
Both teams eventually went to its benches to finish out the game, and the Bull Dogs outscored Franklin 3-2 in the fourth quarter.
Three Bull Dogs finished in double figures. Norman led the way with a game-high 13 points, and Anderson and White each scored 11.
“I think balanced scoring is really important because with this team, you don’t know who is going to be hot on which day,” Anderson said. “We have a lot of shooters and a lot of talented people.”
North will have a couple days of rest before they travel to take on Conference Indiana foe Bloomington North at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Bull Dogs finish the regular season with home matchups against Perry Meridian on Tuesday and Roncalli on Jan. 30.
