Around Town – February 1

Orchids to …

• Joe Salee for a supporting the people’s Second Amendment rights in a well-written letter, from Anita Gauck.

• all Bartholomew County Republicans.

• the guest columnist Leo Morris for his article on Thursday defining the difference between a privilege and a right, from Don Strietelmeier.

• Nina, Hope Branch Library librarian, for her very helpful assistance.

• Shawn at Williams Brothers for staying past his time to leave and working very hard to fix my c-pap machine last week while smiling and being pleasant the whole time, from Nancy.

Onions to …

• the political party that thinks they can rationalize the federal elected official’s innocence by pointing at the employment rate.

• the federal elected official’s team who claims if he thought it would be beneficial for the U.S. to have foreign interference in the elections, then it is OK.

• the county board for cutting their meetings but not their pay.

• the political party which approves foreign influence in our elections, being symbolized by the elephant, an animal that isn’t American.

• the federal elected officials who know the president did a terrible crime but choose to do nothing about it.

• the current administration seeking big cuts in Medicaid which will affect nursing home patients and low-wage working folks without employer health insurance, among others.

• the federal elected official who says he knows the case for impeachment has been proved, but that he will vote to leave the president in office for almost another year anyway.

• killjoy people who complain here about co-workers who whistle and sing while they work instead of talking directly to them.

• the business that has done so much for Columbus for more than 100 years and now the taxpayer gets saddled with the cost of maintaining all these “gifts.”

• people who can’t see one man’s excess and vision in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s could bankrupt the city in 2020.

• everyone that had anything to do with the riverfront project.

• whoever killed our cat and got into our mailbox and spread our mail up and down the road on County Road 850W.

• those who automatically assign corrupt motives to anyone who just happens to disagree with them politically.

• impeachment which has been an embarrassment to America.

• the political party whose mascot closely resembles what they stand for, which is racism, obesity and greed.

• the elected officials whose heads would explode if a president from another political party had illegally used taxpayer money as leverage against a foreign government to help himself get re-elected.

• the federal elected official who has the self-proclaimed best memory ever, but can’t remember all the meetings and photos he has had with people who are currently under indictment or in jail.

Happy Anniversary to …

• Christenit Lazzell on our 35th, love Bill.
