Schools closed, streets were coated with de-icer and shoppers stocked up on necessities, but the snowstorm that threatened to dump heavy snow across Columbus and Central Indiana never happened.

For the fourth consecutive year, the intersection of National Road and 17th Street was the scene of more traffic accidents than any other Columbus junction.

Columbus Plan Commission approved the rezoning of an 11-acre tract adjoining Candlelight Village mobile home park to permit construction of a neighborhood shopping center with a barbershop, beauty shop, grocery and laundry.
