An elderly woman and her son were found shot to death in their mobile home in Tannehill Park just west of Taylorsville, in what appeared to be a murder-suicide.

Bartholomew County highway officials determined a 200-foot buckled section of Grandview Drive could be stabilized and repaired by filling a ravine below the road with 12,000 cubic yards of dirt.

The Republic received several reports of cats mysteriously disappearing in the Columbus vicinity and reported the number of lost cats listed in the classified section of the newpaper also appeared to be greater than normal.
