North routs Franklin

FRANKLIN — After losing a halftime lead in a loss Friday at Bloomington North, Columbus North was intent on not letting the same thing happen Saturday night at Franklin.

The Bull Dogs, who led the Grizzly Cubs 28-22 at halftime, were completely dominant in the final two quarters this time. North outscored Franklin 36-8 in the second half to pull away for a 64-30 victory.

“We weren’t pleased with our third quarter Friday night, and that was a big point of emphasis tonight — to come out after halftime with intensity — and I thought we did that very well,” North coach Paul Ferguson said.

Blake Barker scored 15 points to lead four Bull Dogs in double figures and move into sixth place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,041. Nick Schiavello and Cam Wischmeyer each scored 11 points, and Cooper Horn added 10 for North (16-5).
