The federal government released $888,815 in stimulus funds for construction of a city bus terminal at the future Mill Race Center, including all construction expenses for a building with two offices and seating for the public to wait for buses.

Columbus Area Arts Council drafted a policy that would make The Commons playground, stage, mezzanine and Fourth Street bus drop-off entrance, smoke free.

Miss Elsie Sweeney of Castalia west of Columbus donated $500,000 to help complete, equip and furnish the new Musical Arts Center at Indiana University.
