Toyota Material Handling has announced that due to another possible positive case of COVID-19, the manufacturing facility will remain closed through Friday, March 27.
Toyota had been closed this past Thursday and Friday and this weekend after the first possible case of COVID-19 was reported this past week.
Company officials said the manufacturer’s Parts Distribution Center will continue to operate to serve dealers and supply chain customers.
In a press release, the company announced that in an effort to put the well-being of its associates first, the company is providing shop floor associates with a maximum of 10 paid days off, to include this past Thursday and Friday and the five planned shutdown days through March 27. Company officials said they anticipate the remaining three days may be necessary in the future.
Toyota urged its associates to isolate themselves as directed by federal and state officials.
“We hope this decision will help you accomplish this with minimum hardship to you and your family,” a company statement said.
