Conference Indiana athletics directors are planning for an abbreviated spring sports season, and Friday morning, they came up with a plan for baseball and softball tournaments.
Columbus North was selected to host both the conference baseball and softball final four on May 16 at Southside Elementary. The tournaments were seeded based on last year’s standings, and the Bull Dogs are the defending champions in both.
The first round of the six-team tournaments will take place on May 12 at host sites.
At 10 a.m. May 16, Columbus North’s baseball team will host the winner of the Southport at Bloomington South game, while Bloomington North will face the winner of the Terre Haute South at Terre Haute North game. The championship and third-place games will be at 1 p.m.
Also at 10 a.m. May 16, the Columbus North softball team will host the winner of the Southport at Bloomington North game, and Bloomington North will play the winner of the Bloomington South at Terre Haute South game. The championship and third-place games will be at 1 p.m.
Pairings for the May 9 Conference Indiana tennis tournament at Bloomington South were announced on Wednesday. The second-seeded Bull Dogs will play at 11:30 a.m. against the winner of the Bloomington North at Bloomington South match. The championship and consolation matches will be at 2 p.m.
Also Wednesday, the conference boys and girls track and field meet was set for 11 a.m. May 16 at Bloomington North. The Unified track meet, which was originally set for that same day, has been moved to May 15 at Bloomington North.
