Bartholomew County E-911 has announced that 911 service has been restored to northern Bartholomew County and Shelby County for those with an 812 area code and a 587 prefix on their telephone number.

The Bartholomew County E-911 center is notifying residents in Shelby County and some residents in northern Bartholomew County that their 911 service from land lines is not working this morning.
Individuals who have landline telephone numbers that start with (812) area code and 587 prefix, which is in northern Bartholomew County and the Flat Rock area, may not have 911 service. Cell service will work from these areas if individuals call 911.
Individuals may also use the E-911 center’s non-emergency number at 812-379-1689 from their landlines to access 911, said Todd Noblitt, E-911 director.
Estimated time of repair is unknown at this time.
