Bartholomew County reports six COVID-19 deaths, 13 more cases as of this morning

INDIANAPOLIS — Bartholomew County was among the counties reporting more than 10 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, as the Indiana State Department of Health announced 642 Hoosiers have been diagnosed with the virus through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories.

In addition to 13 more COIVID-19 cases reported by Bartholomew County, the county also reported that deaths in the county due to COVID-19 increased by one to six total as of Friday morning.

That brings to 10,154 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

A total of 519 Hoosiers have died to date. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 54,785 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 51,115 on Thursday.

Marion County had the most new cases, at 207. Other counties with more than 10 new cases were Allen (47), Bartholomew (13), Hamilton (21), Hendricks (29), Johnson (13), LaPorte (19), Lake (54), Madison (22), Porter (10), Shelby (11) and St. Joseph (56). The Lake County totals include results from East Chicago and Gary, which have their own health departments.

Bartholomew County is reporting 130 positive test results out of 935 total tests administered. The county is reporting six deaths. There have been 651 negative test results with 113 pending.

The number of positives of Bartholomew County residents may include testing that was
conducted out of county. Conversely, the number of total tests may also include submissions for non-Bartholomew County residents. The counts listed for positives and deaths is only for Bartholomew County residents.

Other counties reporting results this morning included:

  • Decatur County: 165 positive tests, 17 deaths
  • Shelby County: 97 positive tests, four deaths
  • Brown County: 14 positive tests, one death
  • Jackson County: 77 positive tests, no deaths
  • Jennings County: 63 positive tests, no deaths

Private lab reporting may be delayed and will be reflected in the map and count when results are received at ISDH. The dashboard will be updated at noon each day.
