Toyota Material Handling is halting production at its Walesboro facilities until at least April 27, a company spokesman said today.

The shutdown is due to many of the manufacturer’s suppliers closing down, resulting in the need to close down the facility, the spokesman said.

Toyota continued production until 1 p.m. today, but paid all employees for a full eight-hour day for Friday. The shutdown begins Monday, according to the spokesman.
