3 p.m. update:
Investigators from the Columbus Police Department have identified the persons involved in the morning’s fatal crash involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian.
At approximately 6:50 a.m., CPD officers responded to the area of U.S. 31 and South Line Drive in regards to the crash, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Investigators determined that Steven E. Dickey, 61, of Whiteland, was driving a 2020 International semi-tractor pulling a trailer in the right southbound lane of U.S. 31 when he struck Vivianna Salinas Williamson, 34, of Columbus, who was also in the right southbound lane.
Williamson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Dickey was not injured during the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.

The Columbus Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a semi and a pedestrian that occurred earlier this morning.
Shortly before 7 a.m., CPD officers were sent to the area of U.S. 31 and Shady Lane in regards to the crash which remains under investigation, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
CPD was assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.
