Jon Rohde told me that the most difficult thing about running for judge is that he has to talk about himself to others. In the decade of time I have known Jon, I have never heard him talk about all his accomplishments, his strong work ethic, or all he has done to serve our community. He simply does great work every day without seeking recognition, and oftentimes allowing others to take the credit. Since Jon doesn’t like talking about himself, I’m going to take this opportunity to tell you things you may not know about him.
Jon Rohde grew up in a family of seven with humble means. Although they didn’t have much, his parents always made sure their needs were met. Throughout his modest upbringing, Rohde was taught the difference between needs and wants. The lessons he learned as a child carried over to his six years as chief of police where he was fiscally responsible with our tax dollars while managing a budget of over $10 million dollars. A judge’s work goes well beyond the courtroom, including working with other elected officials and the handling of government budgets. Rohde is the right choice for this work since Superior Court 2 receives the highest state revenues out of any of our local courts, and he is the only candidate that has this type of experience.
Jon Rohde is also an experienced attorney. He was my personal attorney in post-divorce issues and showed great care and concern for my rights as a father to receive more than state minimum visitation with my daughter.
How well Rohde is respected in the legal community is best demonstrated by his appointment to preside over court-ordered facilitations by Judge Worton, Judge Benjamin, Judge Heimann and Indiana’s Office of Court Services, which operates under the direction of the Indiana Supreme Court. After these appointments, Rohde made the process more efficient by reducing the time it took to facilitate all cases by 50%. In addition, presiding over these cases has given Rohde experience in making fair and impartial decisions by applying the law to specific facts.
Clearly Jon Rohde is trusted, efficient, fair and decisive, but in my opinion his best quality is his true servant leadership. Join me in getting to know Jon, and vote for Jon Rohde as our next Judge.
