An informal prayer gathering of Christians asking God to intervene amid everything from human rights and racial struggles to those triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic will be held at 6 p.m. today on the steps of Columbus City Hall, 123 Washington St.
Organizers Holly Palmer and Linda Schadenfroh said they also want to pray for unity in the United States.
"What I’d truly like to see come out of this is simple: to see more people really care about each other," Schadenfroh said. "We’re all brothers and sisters."
The organizers said they have no idea how many people to expect. But they added that if there is significant interest, they’d be willing to host such a gathering even weekly or monthly.
Plans call for a microphone at the gathering to be open to anyone who wishes to pray.
