Betty Lou Spies was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 2, 1922 the daughter of George and Helen Spies. She passed on July 3, 2020.
She was married to Paul Scheidt who died in October, 1983.
She had two sons, Steven Scheidt who died in 2016 and Alan Scheidt who survives. Linda Hutton Scheidt, daughter-in-law, resides in Elkridge, MD. Betty was the cousin of Pat Tovey of Columbus.
Betty was a switchboard operator and receptionist at Arvin Industries of Columbus for nearly 30 years. She retired in 1988 and moved to Sun City, AZ in 1996. She was a member of First Christian Church of Columbus for most of her life until moving to Sun City where she joined the First Christian Church of Sun City.
She had 5 grandchildren including Ryan Scheidt, Chicago, IL, Rhiannon Scheidt, Pittsburgh, PA, Jessica Jue, Vienna, VA, Michael Scheidt, Washington, DC, and Bradley Alan, Hermitage, PA.
